The Income Tax Department announced on 30 June 2026 that the second set of statutory forms prescribed under the Income Tax Rules, 2026 has been made available on the e-Filing portal.
What Has Changed?
Thirteen additional statutory forms, including quarterly compliance forms, have been enabled on the portal. These forms support the transition to the Income Tax Act, 2025 and the Income Tax Rules, 2026.
Taxpayers can access the applicable forms through:
e-File → Income Tax Forms → File Income Tax Forms → Forms as per Income Tax Act, 2025 → Select the applicable form
What Should Taxpayers Do?
Taxpayers, deductors and businesses should:
• Confirm whether their compliance falls under the earlier Income Tax Act, 1961 or the Income Tax Act, 2025.
• Select the correct Assessment Year or Tax Year before filing.
• Review the revised form number and disclosure requirements.
• Maintain supporting records and complete filing within the prescribed due date.
The e-Filing portal will support both the earlier and new forms during the transition. Selecting the correct year and form is therefore important to avoid filing errors or compliance delays.
